SPECIAL JOINT MEETING OF SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AND SAN RAFAEL BOARD
OF EDUCATION - File 9-1-1 x 9-2-1
COUNCILMEMBERS: Present: Lawrence E. Mulryan, Mayor
Dorothy L. Breiner, Councilmember

SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS:

Absent: None
Also Present: Student Board Members Wendy Garfinkel & Brian Wilbur;
Pamela J. Nicolai, San Rafael City Manager; Nancy Dalton,
Superintendent of Schools
1. DEVELOPER FEES - File 9-10-2
It was mentioned that the School District has the authority to assess
dwelling fees for construction and rehabilitation if the need for
it can be demonstrated. The City was informed that specific actions
are not planned because there are many unanswered questions at this
time.
2. DAY CARE - File 9-3-65
Discussion was held on the matter of Bahia Vista School which has
been experiencing space problems, however, the City indicated
it wants to keep the child day care program on the school site and
asked the School Board to work on this problem and keep the City abreast
of any possible solutions.
3. CONSOLIDATION OF ELECTIONS - File 9-4
School Board indicated they took the action to adopt a Resolution
seeking consolidation in order to keep their options open; however,
there was consensus that further action to move the election date would
not be pursued.
4. SAN RAFAEL GENERAL PLAN - File 115 x 10-2
Discussions were held on:
1. Outline for use of San Pedro School;
2. Possible exchange of property for more property in Bahia
3. Growth projections for schools in the San Rafael basin and
the Dixie School District.
5. CBEDS (CALIFORNIA BASIC EDUCATIONAL DATE SYSTEM) DATA
Discussion on the CBEDS Data was held. No action was taken.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
