1. INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS TO FILL TWO (2) VACANCIES ON THE PLANNING
COMMISSION (CC) - FILE 9-2-6
City Council interviewed thirteen applicants to fill two
vacancies on the Planning Commission - one to fill a four year
term to expire the end of June 1988 (term of Commissioner
Robert E. Hoffmann, whose term was due to expire the end of June
1984); and one to fill an unexpired term, to the end of June 1987,
caused by the resignation of Planning Commissioner Richard M.
Norman, effective July 15, 1984. Council policy requires that
all applicants - incumbents and new applicants - be interviewed
at the same time to fill vacancies.
The applicants interviewed were:
Don Dickenson
Gregory P. Einhorn
Kathleen Erickson -Freeman
Richard Gosse
Hal Greene
Robert E. Hoffmann
Martha P. Kearns
Joan Lisetor
Tona D. Macken
Jack McDonough
Richard P. O'Brien
Jeffrey D. Portnoy
Joyce B. Rifkind
After discussion, Councilmember Nave moved and Councilmember
Breiner seconded, to appoint Joyce Rifkind to the Planning
Commission for a term of 4 years, term to expire the end of
June 1988.
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Frugoli, Nave, Russom & Mayor Mulryan
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
Councilmember Frugoli moved and Councilmember Breiner seconded, to
appoint Robert E. Hoffmann to fill the unexpired term, to expire
the end of June 1987.
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Frugoli Nave, Russom & Mayor Mulryan
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
Council agreed that the other applicants' names be kept on file
should future vacancies occur.
CLOSED SESSION - 7:15 PM
2. CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS LITIGATION - FILE 9-1
The Council met in closed session to discuss litigation.
