In Conference Room 201 of the San Rafael City Hall, Monday, November 5,
1984, at 6:30 PM.
Special Meeting: Present: Dorothy L. Breiner, Acting Mayor
Gary R. Frugoli, Councilmember
Richard Nave, Councilmember
Jerry Russom, Councilmember
Absent: Lawrence E. Mulryan, Mayor
Also Present: Robert F. Beyer, City Manager; Jeanne M. Leoncini,
City Clerk; Sharon McNamee, Recreation Director
RE: INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS TO FILL THREE VACANCIES ON THE PARK AND
RECREATION COMMISSION (CC) - File 9-2-4
At meeting of October 1, 1984, the City Council authorized staff to
call for applications to fill three vacancies on the Park and Recre-
ation Commission; two to fill four-year terms to expire the end of
October, 1988, and one to fill an unexpired term to the end of May,
1986, caused by the resignation of Richard J. Matthews.
Patrick J. Webb, current Chairman, whose term was due to expire the end
of October, 1984, indicated he would seek reappointment. Jeffrey
Stahl, whose term was also due to expire the end of October, 1984,
indicated he would not seek reappointment, as he would like to devote
more time to participation with the Canal Community Alliance.
City Council then interviewed eight applicants to fill the three
vacancies, as follows:
Ms. Patricia Ford
Mr. James Hudgins
Ms. Martha Kearns
Ms. Marti Mann
Mr. Luke McCann
Mr. Craig Stern
Mr. Patrick Webb
Dr. Richard Wolfe
After discussion, Councilmember Frugoli moved and Councilmember Russom
seconded, to reappoint Patrick J. Webb for a four-year term to the end
of October, 1988.
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Frugoli, Nave, Russom and Acting Mayor Breiner
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Mayor Mulryan
Councilmember Nave moved and Councilmember Frugoli seconded, to appoint
Dr. Richard D. Wolfe to the Park and Recreation Commission.
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Frugoli, Nave, Russom and Acting Mayor Breiner
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Mayor Mulryan
Councilmember Russom moved and Counciflmember Nave seconded, to appoint
Martha P. Kearns to the Park and Recreation Commission.
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Frugoli, Nave, Russom and Acting Mayor Breiner
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Mayor Mulryan
Councilmember Nave moved and Councilmember Frugoli seconded, that
Martha P. Kearns fill the unexpired term to the end of May, 1986 and
that Dr. Richard D. Wolfe fill the four-year term to the end of October,
1988.

Council adjourned to regular meeting, Closed Session, at 7:00 PM immediately
