Special Present: Lawrence E. Mulryan, Mayor Meeting: Dorothy L. Breiner, Councilmember Gary R. Frugoli, Councilmember Richard Nave, Councilmember Jerry Russom, Councilmember Also Present: Robert F. Beyer, City Manager; Jeanne M. Leoncini, City Clerk; Stewart R. Andrew, Assistant City Attorney BE: INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS FOR CITY ATTORNEY POSITION - File 9-3-16 At a special meeting held on October 9, 1984, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 6938 declaring the Office of City Attorney of San Rafael vacant effective September 29, 1984, due to the tragic accident involving Peter J. Muzio on the slopes of Mt. Shasta on or about September 29, 1984. At that time, the City Council also agreed to fill the vacancy by appointment rather than calling a special election, and authorized staff to call for applications to fill the position of City Attorney, until the next General Municipal Election to be held on November 5, 1985. City Council interviewed four applicants as follows: Bram Bevis William Lynch, Jr. Gary T. Ragghianti John E. Mahoney During discussion, Council considered both Gary T. Ragghianti and William Lynch, Jr. for the position, indicating that both attorneys were well-qualified to serve as City Attorney. Councilmember Frugoli moved and Councilmember Nave seconded, to appoint Gary T. Ragghianti to fill the position of City Attorney.
