A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, PUBLIC
WORKS DIRECTOR, AND THE FIRE CHIEF TO ACT AS
AUTHORIZED AGENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL TO WORK WITH THE STATE OFFICE OF
EMERGENCY SERVICES IN MATTERS PERTAINING TO
DISASTER ASSISTANCE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Rafael as follows:
WHEREAS, on February 9, 1998, President Clinton declared a major
disaster for 27 California counties, including Marin County, in response to the "El Nino
98" storms; and
WHEREAS, the City has incurred significant storm related costs; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Office of Emergency Management will reimburse
public entities for certain storm related costs; and
WHEREAS, the Governor's Office of Emergency Services requires
applicants for federal reimbursement to authorize certain City employees to work with the
State Office of Emergency Services on matters pertaining to disaster assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
San Rafael that the City Manger, the Director of Public Works, and the Fire Chief are
hereby designated to execute agreements and documents on behalf of the City of San
Rafael for the purpose of obtaining federal financial assistance.

is hereby authorized to execute for and in behalf of the Citv of San Rafael , a public entity
established under the laws of the State of California, this application and to file it in the Office of Emergency Services for the
purpose of obtaining certain federal financial assistance under P.L. 93-288 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Discs'
Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or state financial assistance under the Natural Disaster Assistance Act.
THAT the City of San Rafael , a public entity established under the laws of tie State of California,
hereby authorizes its agent(s) to provide to the State Office of Emergency Services for all matters pertaining to such state
disaster assistance the assurances and agreements required.
