RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING USE OF FEDERAL LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $55,204 FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance
granted the City of San Rafael $55,204 in block grant funds; and,
WHEREAS, this block grant money may be spent to hire necessary law enforcement
support personnel; and,
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael is creating a Comprehensive Code Enforcement
program; and,
WHEREAS, the Code enforcement officers will work closely with law enforcement
officers in solving community crime and quality of life issues; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council must approve use of the grant funds to begin the process
of grant approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use of
$55,204 in Local Law Enforcement Block Grant funds to hire two Assistant
Code Enforcement Officers, pending required grant approval processes.
I, Jeanne Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on the 18th day of
November, 1996 by the following vote, to wit:
