RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING AN EXPENDITURE NOT TO EXCEED $7,500 FOR
THE PURCHASE OF HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE FOR
THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL MIDAS CONNECTION
WHEREAS, The internet and the power of the new networking
technologies present the City of San Rafael with tremendous opportunities to
realize efficiencies in its operation, to improve services to the public, and to
communicate with colleagues and customers; and
WHEREAS, The County of Marin has developed and maintains
MIDAS, a highly -regarded civic network on the internet; and
WHEREAS, The City Council and staff have reviewed a proposal to
connect the City of San Rafael to the internet through the MIDAS network,
and have determined that said proposal provides a cost-effective means for
the City to connect to the internet.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that City Council of the
City of San Rafael hereby authorizes an expenditure not to exceed $7,500 to
purchase hardware and software for a City of San Rafael connection to
MIDAS.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCM, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a Regular meeting of the City Council of said City
held on Mondav the 17th day of June , 1996, by the following vote to
wit:

Mayor Boro
