RESOLU'T'ION NO. 9460
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION DE dPPRECIRTION
TO
SONOMA COUNTY RELEAF
WHEREAS, the San Rafael community came together to describe the
Downtown they desired in Our Vision of Downtown San
Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the community Vision includes beautiful, tree lined streets
that are pleasant to walk; and
WHEREAS, a stalwart group of volunteers declared themselves to be the
organization Downtown Trees, and gathered community
efforts to plant 100 street trees; and
WHEREAS, Sonoma County ReLeaf assisted in the organization of the
effort, gave technical advice and counsel, supervised youth
groups that planting the trees, coordinated efforts between the
various organizations, provided information on resources; and
WHEREAS, Ellen Bailey and Jane Bender are extraordinary human beings
who work from dawn to midnight, never lose their tempers or
sense of fun, and are exemplars of community spirit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council, on
behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Sonoma County ReLeaf, Ellen and Jane, for their
efforts in making Our Vision for Downtown San Rafael come
alive.
