Sixteen applications were received in the City Clerk's Office by the deadline of Tuesday, February 28, 2017; however, it was determined that one of the applicants was not a resident of the City of San Rafael, and therefore, ineligible to apply. Due to the high volume of applications received, a subcommittee of the City Council carried out an initial review of the 15 eligible applicants and selected seven to be interviewed by the full City Council.
