CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUITION OF dPPRECI[ITION
TO
SUE SCOTT
WHEREAS, the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Rafael
determined to embark on a collaborative, community based consensus planning
effort to determine the future of Downtown San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, tSue Scott served as a volunteer and as a subcommittee member of the
Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, the subcommittees met from 1991 to 1993 to formulate Our Vision of Downtown
San Rafael which reflects the dreams and desires of the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Sue reflected the interests of children, longtime residents, neighborhoods and
Downtown shoppers on the Downtown Community Plan Committee; and
WHEREAS, Sue interacted with many of the Plan Sponsor groups, including the Bret Harte
Neighborhood Association, Builders Association, Planning Commission and the
San Rafael City Schools, and kept them informed of the progress made on the
Plan; and
WHEREAS, Sue provided invaluable publicity in her Terra Linda Newspointer column and her
facilitation skills, hours of effort throughout out- two years of work and assisted
tremendously in informing the community about Our Vision for Downtown San
Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Sue Scott for her dedicated and devoted service as a DOWNTOWN
COMMUNITY PLAN SUBCOMMITTEE MEMBER AND
VOLUNTEER and the contributions she has made to creating a Vision for
Downtown San Rafael which will improve the quality of life for- current and future
residents of San Rafael.
