SAN RAFAEL CITY EMPLOYEE
WHEREAS, NANCY PERCY has served the City of San Rafael since August of
1975, handling various part time positions until November of 1983, at
which time she was put in charge of the entire child care program;
and
WHEREAS, during this tin -ie Nancy through tremendous personal care and
cornmitrnent has completed a successful and complicated transition
of the child care program to a State licensed program, growing from
one center in 1979 to seven in 1990 and resulting in her division
being now recognized as a State model for child care programs; and
WHEREA S, Nancy has represented the City on the State Board of the California
School Age Consortium, and has coordinated child care programs on
local school sites under the jurisdiction of the San Rafael and Dixie
School Districts; and
WHEREAS, Nancy has leveraged several significant capital improvement
projects, such as Short School playgrounds and the construction of
several Children's Centers by involving local businesses, parent
volunteers and grant funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City
of San Rafael hereby designate NANCY PERCY as CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL 1990 EMPLOYEE OF THE 'YEAR and express sincere
appreciation to Nancy for her dedication and outstanding service to
our community on this twentieth day of April, nineteen hundred
and ninety.
