WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council by unanimous action appointed CLIFFORD S.
LUND to the Planning Commission in May of 1975; and
WHEREAS, Cliff served ably and well on the San Rafael Planning Commission,
thereby securing reappointments by the San Rafael City Council in July of
1976 and in September of 1980; and
WHEREAS, during his seven years of service to the City of San Rafael, Cliff
served as Chairman of the Planning Commission for the year 1979, as Chairman
of the Sign Ordinance Revision Committee, and reviewed on an active and
thorough basis development proposals brought before the Planning Commission;
and
WHEREAS, during his seven years of service Cliff was diligent in his Commission
responsibilities; in addition he was fair and willing to hear all sides and
consistently voiced constructive comments which, in turn, provided the basis
for sound planning policy; and
WHEREAS, Cliff's skills will be missed because of his knowledge of the City of
San Rafael as a long-time resident, business and civic leader and his
efforts to make San Rafael a better community in which to live.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council expresses sincere and
profound appreciation in grateful acknowledgement of Cliff's long and
faithful service to the City of San Rafael.
