HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6057RESOLUTION NO. 6057 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO THE MAJOR CRIMES TASK FORCE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT RE: PERSONNEL ASSIGNMENTS TO THE TASK FORCE WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has entered into a Joint Powers Agreement with the eleven other Law Enforcement jurisdictions for the purpose of creating the Marin County Major Crimes Task Force; and WHEREAS, the Marin County Major Crimes Task Force has experienced problems achieving its authorized strength due to vacancies with member agencies; and WHEREAS, there feeling that there is a need to clarify the responsibilities of the County and eleven cities and towns in making a commitment to staff the said Task Force; and WHEREAS, the Marin County Police Chiefs Association and the Oversight Committee of the Major Crimes Task Force has reviewed this matter and feels it is essential that the County and cities and towns make a formal commitment to staff the Task Force. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael agrees to a commitment of personnel as provided for in Section 7.0 of said amendment to said agreement, per EXHIBIT "A" attached. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk of San Rafael are authorized to execute the second amendment to the Major Crimes Task Force Joint Powers Agreement. I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk s H l ' ►a �• 0 EXHIBIT "A" SECOND AMENDMENT OF JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT MARIN COUNTY MAJOR CRIMES TASK FORCE The Joint Powers Agreement of August, 1979 among the County of Marin and the eleven cities and towns of Marin County as amended effective October 1, 1980 hereby is amended further effective December 1, 1980 in the following respects only: Section 7.C. is amended to read in its entirety: 7.C. Personnel assigned to the Task Force shall continue to be employed and compensated by the assigning party, subject to reimbursement for actual cost from Task Force funds. Each such assignment shall be for a specific tour of duty, normally not less than six months nor longer than two years, and may be renewed. An assign- ment may be terminated before the end of the tour of duty by the assigning party only if thirty days notice is given in writing and ter- mination is approved by the subcommittee after weighing the needs of the Task Force and of the assigning party.
