RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL ADOPTING AMENDMENTS
ON ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT OF
1980, AS AMENDED
WHEREAS, the State of California in 1970 passed the California Environ-
mental Quality Act (CEQA) requiring that all public agencies consider environmental
effects and impacts within their regulatory process; and
WHEREAS, the Resources Agency of the State of California, as required
by CEQA has promulgated guidelines which must be implemented by all cities in
their regulatory process; and
WHEREAS, these guidelines require that each city shall amend local
environmental assessment procedures which are consistent with the CEQA and the
guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has amended the Environmental Assess-
ment Procedures Manual consistent with the CEQA and the latest revision to the
state guidelines (May, 1980); and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael Planning Commission reviewed these
amendments at their regular meeting of April 28, 1981, and found them consistent
with the State EIR Guidelines.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council adopts the
amendments of the Environmental Assessment Procedures Manual dated April 1981
to be utilized in the review of all public and private projects over which the
City of San Rafael has jurisdiction.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, California,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City held on the
sixth day of July , 1981 by the following vote, to wit:
