Since countywide census outreach and education efforts
began in earnest in February 2019, the Marin Census Staff
Team, led by Stephanie McNally of Canal Alliance, have
conducted the following community outreach efforts:

Are My Responses Confidential?

●Extremely strong laws protect the confidentiality of your census
response. Title 13 is a federal statute that has existed for decades with
harsh consequences for people who violate census confidentiality.
Wrongful disclosure can lead to a $250,000, up to 5 years prison or
both.
●The Census Bureau is not allowed to share your personal information
with anyone, including ICE, police, landlords or any government
agencies.
●The Census Bureau cannot share information about you as an
individual.

●Libraries and Recreation Centers will be setting up Questionnaire
Assistance Centers (QACs) in all 3 library locations (Downtown
Library, Pickleweed Library, Northgate Pop-up)
●Staff trained to provide census support and bilingual services
●The City of San Rafael is utilizing all of its social media and
communication networks to motivate residents in census
participation
●Promoting Census Jobs with workshops last year and another one
coming up on February 8th
