FIRE COMMISSION MEETING
Minutes of the Regular Meeting
January 11, 2017
Station 51, 1039 C Street, San Rafael
Present:

Guests Linda Barnello, Marco & Estephania, Vol. FF of the National Fire Service of Peru (hosted
by Larry Luckham).
Called to order at 4:05pm.
1. Open Time for Public Expression:
a. Linda Barnello asked for clarification of traffic pattern adjustments that are
planned to accommodate the new SMART train/Transportation Center re-
alignment. Commissioner Mizroch will ask Chief Gray for input.
b. Marco & Estephania were introduced and welcomed. They have been observing
San Rafael Fire Department’s firefighters and paramedics at Stations 51 & 56.
2. Commissioner Thompson: Recognition of the strong and successful effort made by
many people in carrying out of Dec. 2016 Fire Foundation Crab Feed was presented.
Other potential Fire Foundation activities were discussed.
3. Commissioner Mizroch described the Holiday recognition and comestibles for individual
fire stations.
4. Chief Sinnott gave updates on storm related responses by fire crews. Sand bags were
exceedingly popular. Preparations for construction of new fire stations was discussed.
Vacancies in the ranks and plans for recruitment and/or promotion were highlighted.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:10pm.
