OLD BUSINESS
2. 220 Shaver Street (AT&T Telecommunications Facility Building Addition) - Request for
Environmental and Design Review Permit to allow construction of a mechanical room
building addition on the south side of an existing multi -story telecommunications
building; along with parking lot, landscaping and fencing modifications and
improvements; APN: 011-245-38; High Density Residential (HR1) District; AT&T,
owner/applicant. Downtown/West End environs. Project Planner: Kraig Tambornini
There was no Motion, due to the fact that this was a Conceptual Item.
However, the Board made the following comments on the project.
1) Landscaping - would like to see taller trees to better screen The building from public view, a
suggestion of 24" box plants instead of 15" box plants was made. More depth of design would add alot
and take away the barren look on both North and South sides.
2) The materials used in the North and South gates should match.
3) The stucco facia on top of building is good
4) The North side channels should continue past the added steel channels and channels in middle to
complete ending of facia element.
5) Parking spaces at the east/west corners of new building on South side should be turned into finger
planters with trees and ground coverage.
6) The Blue Awnings are a good idea
7) The columns supporting the metal wrought iron fences should be wider - perhaps 16" or up to 24"
instead of the 12" as shown in photos.
8) Should consider low shrubbery areas behind pavers to provide transition to fence.
9) Window grill - dark color is best
10) Would like complete color board which represents actual colors and materials to see how colors
relate to each other
11) Clarify whether the roof is standing seam or corrugated - photos are different
12) Place antennaes behind the northside of new facia
13) Provide site plan with construction drawings to include dimensions to see scale
14) Provide Noise Study
