1. Minutes, September 5, 2012
Stewart Summers moved and Mohit Garg seconded Approve Minutes as amended. The vote is as
follows:

NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: Bob Huntsberry, Cheryl Lentini

2. 400-496 Las Gallinas Ave (Northgate III Shopping Center) - Requests for an Environmental
and Design Review Permit to allow the repainting of the existing retail shopping center
and a Sign Program Amendment to allow the revision to existing tenant signage; APN:
175-250-14; General Commercial (GC) District; AFC Northgate LLC, owner; Bill
O'Callaghan and Mike Schalich, applicants; File Nos.: ED12-048; SP12-003. Terra Linda
Neighborhood. Project Planner: Raffi Boloyan
Stewart Summers moved and Serge Fedorov seconded to conditionally approve project and allow staff to
work with applicant on the following consensus items:
1) The color change and color palette and porportionality were all appropriate.
2) Signage - the 9' width should be mandated and not be a flexible width for in-line tenants.
3) There should be some definition for one-line and two-line of copies (letter heights) that are
proportional to the space.
4) No need for standard font type or color.
5) Monument sign - based to be changed to Penny color (not the Twilight Gold).
6) Parapet tenant sign should be tied in with other signs.
7) Anchor tenants (restaurants) should have more license (freedom) with signage.
8) CVS sign- either extend parapet or center sign down within parapet.
