CONCESSION 1 Project Description (For a more complete narrative please see separate 8 ½”x11” document) The new Whistlestop development will allow a highly respected and admired local non-profit to continue serving Marin County seniors and meet the growing demand for their services. Whistlestop has partnered with Eden Housing to help realize their vision for a new facility that will include between 46 and 50 units of on-site affordable senior housing to complement its Active Aging Center and Jackson Café. The new critically needed 1 bedroom senior affordable housing units will provide homes to very low to extremely low income seniors, aged 62 and older, who earn less than 50% of Area Median Income. The project will include high quality amenities such as a community room, a computer center and library, landscaped courtyards and furnished lobbies for casual social interaction. The current set of documents outlines three alternate design schemes within the context of the Hetherton Area zoning and the Downtown San Rafael Station Area Plan which are based on the same fundamental floor plan. The enclosed drawings illustrate views from similar vantage points for each of the schemes to present to the community and to better understand how this development will fit into the neighborhood.
