COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 1400 FIFTH AVENUE SAN RAFAEL, CALIFORNIA Members of the public may speak on agenda items. An opportunity for public comments will be provided prior to the Board beginning its discussion on each item. Minutes, September 16, 2014 NEW BUSINESS 2. 6000 Northgate Mall Drive (Home Goods) – Request for a Major Sign Program Amendment to the Northgate Mall Sign Program (SR07-91 & SP14-001) to allow a 60” tall main building wall sign plus two additional wall signs on the interior facing walls exceeding the 36” approved letter height, for a total of four wall signs placed on the Home Goods pad building located along Los Ranchitos Road (on the east side of the Northgate Mall regional shopping complex site); APN: 175-060-61; General Commercial (GC) District; S Signs & Services for TJX & Co. Applicant, Macerich, Owner; File No: SP14-005 Project Planner: Kraig Tambornini 3. 1700 Fourth St (G Street Mixed Use) – Requests for Environmental and Design Review and Use Permit approvals to redevelop an existing 7,500sf commercial site with a three-story mixed-use building containing 14 covered parking spaces, 750sf of ground floor retail, and 10 two-level townhouses including 8 1-bed and 2 2-bed units. A three unit density bonus is requested for providing a very low income unit. The use permit is required to approve a six-foot height bonus above the 30 foot standard height allowance. Two tandem parking spaces are also proposed consistent with City and State affordable housing regulations. Project Planner: Kraig Tambornini 4. 1600 Mission Avenue (Marin Academy) – Request for an Environmental and Design Review Permit and Use Permit Amendment to allow the construction of a new, 18,340 square foot, “Science and Innovation Center” building and associated parking, circulation, drainage and landscaping improvements and to allow an increase in maximum enrollment, from 400 to 450 students. The new science building is proposed to be located north of Thatcher Hall (current science building), south of the ‘old’ gymnasium, east of the athletic fields, and west of Foster Hall; APNS: 011-161-13, 011-154-01, 011-193-04, 011-195-06; Public/Quasi-Public (P/QP) District; Ted Lieser for Equity Community Buildings, applicant; Mike Joyce for Marin Academy, owner; File No.: ED14-048; UP14-013.
