This year's event features four races and an expo area on B Street. The pro races for men and women are expected to attract full fields from top professional teams in the country as well as a few international teams. There will be a locally sponsored "Beer Garden" which provides income to the event and the non -profits associated with Project Sport. Project Sport will work with the BID to give Downtown merchants opportunities to promote their businesses at the event. ANALYSIS: The proposal will be coordinated with the Police, Fire and Public Works Departments, St. Raphael's Church, the Rafael Film Center, Cushman/Wakefield (managers of 1000 Fourth Street) and Monahan/Parker Properties. The race is scheduled to end by approximately 9 p.m. and streets will generally be reopened within thirty minutes. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. The event producers are paying for the Police Department activities.
