A community school is both a place and a set of partnerships between a school district and other community resources. Its integrated focus on academics, youth development, family
support, health and social services, and community development leads to improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.

Preliminary Data Analysis: Emerging Themes
Collaborative partnerships between SRCS and community partners should be based on shared goals that are fundamental to student and families success.
Significant changes in how SRCS and external service providers collaborate – a shift toward integrated coordination of services to better support students and families.
Relationship between community and schools is critical to making community schools successful – investment is essential.
Voices of students and adults alike must be heard and valued.
