Policy EV -8b Economic Vitality element - clarify why this program regarding Day Laborers was suggested for removal. ■ Response - Initial efforts and support for the day laborer center pilot program ended. It has not been on the work program for a number of years. 2. Station Area Planning - identify clear policy measures that are proactive and forward thinking. ■ Response - Vision and objectives are supported by policies and programs throughout the General Plan and planned Amendments. Update to the City's Zoning Code is also anticipated to support objectives. 3. Affordable Housing - highlight strategies to address the need for affordable housing and the homeless concerns in San Rafael. ■ Response - The City's updated 2015-2023 Housing Element includes many policies and programs that address affordable housing and homelessness. Recommended Actions and Next Steps Recommended Actions ■ Provide staff with any direction or comments to update the Status Report. ■ Accept the Status Report to allow staff to prepare the suggested General Plan Amendments and return to PC and CC.
