SUBJECT: REAPPOINTMENT OF DR. STEPHEN G. MIZROCH TO FILL ONE FOUR-YEAR TERM
TO THE END OF MARCH 2018 ON THE SAN RAFAEL FIRE COMMISSION DUE TO
THE EXPIRATION OF TERM (CC)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council reappoint Dr. Stephen G. Mizroch to a further four-year term, to
the end of March 2018, on the San Rafael Fire Commission.
SUMMARY BACKGROUND:
At the Regular Meeting of the City Council on February 3, 2014, the City Council called for applications to
fill one four-year term to the end of March, 2018 on the San Rafael Fire Commission, due to expiration of
term of Dr. Stephen G. Mizroch. One application was received by the deadline of February 25, 2014.
ACTION: Approve staff recommendation.

Reasons for wanting to serve
I seek to remain on the Fire Commission to help carry out the mission of the Fire
Department: "to help the City of San Rafael." The work of the Fire Department is
not only essential to the safety of the city of San Rafael, it also enhances the
quality of life for those persons affiliated with it.
The paramedic element of the Fire Service is an area 1 can support and enhance
through my physician/caregiver experience and expertise.
The Fire Commission is a unique group of volunteers with different skill sets and
life experiences. 1 seek to continue to participate with and support the Fire
Commission in all its responsibilities and activities.
