REPORT ON BID OPENING FOR THE PARKETTE ROUTINE LANDSCAPE
MAINTENANCE (BID OPENING HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2014) AND RESOLUTION
REJECTING ALL BIDS
WHEREAS, On April 7, 2014, the City Council adopted the specifications for the Parkette
Routine Landscape Maintenance project; and
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of May, 2014, pursuant to due and legal notice published in the
manner provided by law, inviting sealed bids for proposals for the work hereinafter mentioned, as more
fully appears from the Affidavit of Publication thereof on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
San Rafael, California, the City Clerk of said City did publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed bids
or proposals for doing the following work in said City, to wit:
"PARKETTE ROUTINE LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE"
PROJECT ACCOUNT 241-44-11105-9270
in accordance with the specifications therefore on file in the office of said City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, bids received were in excess of the authorized budget; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Municipal Code section 11.50. 100 states that the awarding authority
has the sole discretion to reject all bids.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
RESOLVES as follows:
1. All bids received for the Parkette Routine Landscape Maintenance be rejected in
accordance with the San Rafael Municipal Code section 11.50.100
I, ESTHER C. BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held
on Monday, the 2°d day of June, 2014 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Bushey, Colin, Connolly, McCullough & Mayor Phillips
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
