HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 13623 (Sell Police Sedan to Ross)C RESOLUTION NO. 13623 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL ONE POLICE INTERCEPTOR SEDAN, VEHICLE #229, TO THE TOWN OF ROSS FOR $39,614.33. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, on May 20, 2013 the San Rafael City Council approved the purchase of a 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan (Unit #229) and the vehicle was part of and funded from the City's Vehicle Replacement Fund; and WHEREAS, the Ford Interceptor Sedan does not meet the Police Department's needs and the resale market for such equipped police vehicles is very limited; and WHEREAS, the Town of Ross has offered to purchase the vehicle for its police department for $39,614.33 which is the total amount paid by the City for the vehicle, equipment, and installation of the equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that competitive bidding for the sale of this surplus equipment is waived, pursuant to San Rafael Municipal Code Section 2.55.070(D), and the City Manager is hereby authorized to take such actions necessary to accomplish the sale of the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan (Unit #229) to the Town of Ross, with the proceeds of the sale to be returned to the City's Vehicle Replacement Fund. I, ESTHER BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on the 7th day of October, 2013, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Colin, Connolly, Heller, McCullough & Mayor Phillips NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ESTHER BEIRNE, City Clerk IN
