A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DISTRIBUTION OF
PROPOSITION 40 PER CAPITA FUNDS
IN AMOUNT OF $265,000
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows:
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael is eligible to apply for $265,000 of Local
Assistance Funds from the Per Capita Grant Program Under the Safe
Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air and Coastal Protection Bond Act
of 2202; and
WHEREAS, the priority for park and recreation facility improvements has been
established through community process; AND
WHEREAS, the Bret Harte, Santa Margarita and Gerstle Park Playground
Replacement projects would benefit from additional funding; and
WHEREAS, the McInnis Skatepark, a cooperative project with the City, the
County of Marin and Marinwood Community Services District, needs additional
funding from the County and the City to begin construction,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the City Council approves
distribution of Proposition 40 Per Capita Funds, Bret Harte Park - $50,000,
Santa Margarita Park- $40,000, Gerstle Park- $50,000, McInnis Skatepark
$115,197, Playground Safety Fund $9,803.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the Council of said City held on Monday, the 15th day of
April 2002, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Heller, Phillips and Mayor Baro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSTAINING/DISQUALIFIED:COUNCILMEMBERS: Miller (due to conflict of interest)
