RESOLUTION NO. 11072
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
Kay Noquchv
WheYecW, Kay Noguchi has worked as a Reference Librarian for the City since 1996 and has distinguished
herself not only as a skilled and efficient Reference Librarian, but also as an upbeat and energizing
presence on the Library staff; and
Whereas; Kay enthusiastically accepts responsibility for a wide variety of work assignments, and has initiated
many projects to publicize the Library, and to improve library services to the community. Among
the programs that Kay has been responsible for is the Canal Neighborhood Guide to Communitv
Resources which has been well -used by individuals and municipal and non-profit agencies
throughout San Rafael; and
Whereas; Kay, over the last six years, has organized and hosted many public programs for adults including
author talks, travel lectures, even an opera series with San Rafael's own "Three Tenors;" and
Whereak, Kay was one of only 165 librarians from throughout the world selected to participate in the
California State Library Institute on 21St Century Librarianship at Stanford University in 1999; and
Whereas; Kay is active in community affairs and has been a member of the North San Rafael Vision in Action
Committee, and a member of the City's General Plan Steering Committee, and has served as co-
chair of the Quality of Life Task Force; and
Wherea4-, Kay is respected for her commitment to the City of San Rafael as both an employee of the City and
a community volunteer active in civic affairs.
Naw therefar& b& X MSOWe& that the Mayor and the City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby
designate Kay Noguchia as Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2002, and express sincere
appreciation for her dedication, professionalism and outstanding service to the City of San Rafael.
